Oscar Animated

Vintage film spools with film

I don’t care too much for the Oscars. I think their sole saving grace is to bring attention to the films that weren’t as noticed this year.

So, I prefer the less popular categories. This year, let’s say it’s the Oscar-nominated Animated Short Films.

I’ve gathered them here for you, as best I could. I’ll tell you my favorite at the end.

“The Lady and the Reaper” (La dama y la muerte)

(higher quality version here)

“French Roast”

“Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty”

“Logorama” (Some strong language)

The final contender, Wallace and Gromit’s “A Matter of Loaf and Death” I could not find a full movie for, but here’s the trailer:

I like French Roast, followed by Logorama. French Roast has that classic appeal while Logorama is a well-executed and original idea!

What do you think?
